Google Pages - High Rankings and PR out of the blue?!

At the end of February I wrote a post on Google Page Creator - just when Google released it. Well, 2 months later and a bit (today) I searched for my full name [Max Chirkov], just out of curiosity, and was very surprised to see my Google page ranking #2 just right below this site. Even more surprising is Google PageRank 4 for that page even though Google doesn't show any links pointing to it. I found a couple of links (on Yahoo) from this blog pointing there, but that's it. BTW, it also ranks #3 in Yahoo and #1 in MSN. I'm just wandering, how beneficial these pages can be in business and how exactly utilize them. Here is a little experiment, let's call it [Myrtle Beach Real Estate] - we'll see how it goes. Would be great to hear any ideas? Please feel free to comment.

The new page is already indexed and cached and appears right below my google homepage in the results for my full name. Don't see it ranking for the desired keyphrase yet.. early to say.
Max - Myrtle beach real estate term may be a bit competitive for just a single link. However, one of your client's pages turned up on the 5th page: http://www.ibsteam.net/wsnlinks/links/detail/328 You have a good thing going here...

Paul, you're absolutely right, I was just having second thoughts as far as Google treating their own pages differently or if they were getting too much of Google's own juice :) The page you mentioned is actually for my site - the site of the company I'm working for. This directory is just a hobby :)
I did something similiar on Google's blog and found that it was immediately indexed, but three months later the link expired and it was gone. Easy come easy go.

Well, I wasn't hoping for anything big - just was curious :p
Max said "This directory is just a hobby". Pretty strong hobby Max. :) How many visitors do you get a month to this site?

..looks like this month I'm averaging about 4400 visitors a day.
I'm doing a bit of test myself and came across this blog. I'm spending a day going blog to blog and finding the ones with solid PR (no less than 3, prefer 4 or above). Then I'm posting to the blog and making sure I put in my keywords such as Kingsland GA Homes For Sale or Kingsland GA Real Estate and pointing the blog towards my site: http://www.royal-skies.com to see what happens. Some of these sites allow html to automatically create a link, while others do not. I'm curious to see how quickly each of them appears linked to my site and what happens to my sites PR (currently bouncing between dismal 1 and 2).
