Firefox Extension for Desktop Blogging

Yesterday I was very excited to share with you my experience about w.bloggar as desktop blogging application. I knew there were more but I didn't really want to continue installing all different programs on my PC. Today I came across Performancing for Firefox - Firefox browser extension that allows you to post into you blog just by hitting F8 on your keyboard. The setup was extremely easy, the only extra thing I had to do is to upgrade my Firefox to 1.5 version which is the most current today. Check out the screen shot I made while typing this entry:

I highlighted the blogging part with red line just to show you how it looks in the browser. One thing I don't really like that there is no way to upload images directly into your blog through this application, so I had to use my FTP software to do that. At the same time w.bloggar uploads images right from the application - neat stuff. The spellcheck feature for this extension can be downloaded from this page.

After adding a few link I also noticed that title and the target attributes weren't automatically added like in w.bloggar and I don't think it can be set to do this in automatic way. I'm pretty sure though the guys at perfomancing.com will tune it to the higher level. I really like the approach and the ability to brows web pages while typing, but at this moment I like the w.bloggar more :)
