Default A Special Message From ADVANCED ACCESS - 5/25/2007

Did you get yours yet? WOW!!! I love AA! ... not.

FREE Product Enhancements To Support Your Business

The whole Advanced Access team would like to thank you for your support and patience during this challenging week. We know that you place your trust in us to provide you valuable web services to support your business. We vow to continue to earn that trust and work harder for it every day.

We are thankful for your messages of encouragement and critique. We do understand your frustration in this matter and regret the inconvenience that this has caused you. We accept full responsibility for our services and our staff continues to work diligently at restoring the last few items that are experiencing glitches.

Although any company can experience technical difficulties and apologize for inconveniences, our entire Senior Management team and staff understand that actions speak louder than words. While we pondered what we could do to show our gratitude to our loyal clients we kept coming back to offering something that would last the entire duration of your time with Advanced Access. We also wanted to provide something that actively improved your product experience and usefulness to you. On behalf of our whole team, please accept these improvements to your services which have already been implemented in your Virtual Offices:

Your available number of POP3 email boxes has increased from 5 per domain name to 10 per domain name. You will continue to have an unlimited amount of forwarding addresses available.
The capacity of your POP3 email boxes has increased from 10 MB to 100 MB per email box.
The space allotted for non-image files has increased from 10 MB to 100 MB per website. You will continue to have unlimited space for all image files. (Note - For our clients who have upgraded to our 50 MB or 100 MB paid service, your billing will be stopped for this product).
As we shared in our member email this week, we have moved our server network from our headquarters in Anaheim, California to an off-site data center in Irvine, California ahead of schedule in light of this week's main power supply issue. We would like to take this opportunity to share the features of this new location for improvement of our service to you:

Quadruple redundant air conditioning units - These A/C units keep the server equipment safe from overheating. The equipment generates a massive amount of heat, and if it gets too hot systems can fail. Should an A/C unit fail, there are multiple others backing it up to keep the equipment at a safe temperature.
Four separate UPS units - These UPS units run side by side with the main power. Should the main power fail there are multiple backup uninterrupted power supplies to keep everything running while the generators kick in.
2 generators - These generators are side by side with the main power and UPS units. Should power failure occur, a generator will kick in to run the equipment. The second generator is in place should the first fail. Each generator at the facility is tested monthly.
Earthquake safe - The data center facility is Seismic Zone 4 rated. Zone 4 refers to the classification level of our geographic location and its seismic activity. Being equipped to Zone 4 standards means the building, racks, and systems within can withstand up to an 8.3 earthquake.
High security - Entry includes bullet proof glass enclosure, and a man-trap. There are also security guards on duty at the facility 24/7.
24 hour monitoring - Network operation center is monitored 24/7 for internet and power fluctuations.
SAS-70 certification - This is a special security certification required by banks and other high security companies/industries.
2 gigabits per second bandwidth - Bandwidth for our network has increased from 150 megabits per second to 2 gigabits per second. This helps your sites, images, and files load faster from our servers.
12 Terabytes of additional storage available - This additional space gives us plenty of room to grow and offer you more features in the future. (One terabyte is equal to one thousand gigabytes or a thousand billion bytes).
We are also in the process of securing multiple out of state redundant data centers. These additional data centers will be additional "hot sites" that will be duplicated server networks which can run independent of our other locations.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions for us regarding this information or any of our services. We are available to you in our Customer Support Center Monday through Friday 7 AM to 6 PM Pacific Time and Weekends 7 AM to 4 PM Pacific Time. Our Member Forums are open 24/7, and we welcome your emails at [edited].

Thank you once again for your patience and please accept our most sincere apologies for interrupting your business operations. We respect all the hard work, effort, time, and money you have invested in your website and related services. We are committed to your success, thank you for partnering with us.

Quick Holiday Weekend Reminder!

Advanced Access Customer Support will be in the office this weekend for normal business hours. We will, however, be closed on Monday May 28th, 2007 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. We wish you and your family and fun and safe holiday weekend.

WOW. 10x the storage for the emails you may or may not receive. That certainly makes up for 4 days of hell.

AA clients need to be more understanding and realize that after Dominion paid millions for AA, there isn't much left to comp clients.

As Chip pointed out on the AA forum, I like the security measure in AA's special message of a "Man-trap" at the entrance to the new facility. Lets me sleep a little better at night.

What, they suspect sabotage and are now setting traps to catch "them" before they strike again?

A "man trap?"

Sounds like something desperate single women would use!

Anna said a "man trap" is a box that drops down from the ceiling and traps an intruder.

Great idea! That'll prevent someone from breaking in and fixing the AA system...
