We all need to pull together for Charles Richey

Well, I don't like being the bearer of bad news... but, our dear friend Charles Richey has been in a Las Vegas hospital for a few days now in ICU. As most of you know, Charles is the Webmaster for his wife's Las Vegas real estate Web site (any and all links to their home page will be appreciated as well so his wife Jacqui can help out too by providing their only income while he recovers).

He has been diagnosed with: Guillain-Barre Syndrome. BTW, Charles and Jacqui have no health insurance...

I was notified via email on Friday by a dear friend of his that lives near him.

I was finally able to talk to Charles just now, though only for a few minutes as he is in severe pain and cannot hold a phone.

If you care to send a card, please PM me for his address right now...

So, here is what I propose (Max and I have talked this through, and I have recently spoken with Ken Smith about this too):
We should start a fund raising event for Charles!
I will start the drive with a $300 donation from all of us at The Phoenix Homes Team.

Max will have a PayPal account set up shortly, so everyone can pitch in whatever they can in this slow market.

Just think, even a small donation from everyone we know will add up to a large sum to help Charles out. So, pitch in whatever you can and may God bless you for helping Charles and Jacqui out in their time of need.

This is a terrible news. I received an email from Charles last week - he shared his concern about health problems he was having, and I suggested him to see a doctor. Charles is a good friend of Matt and I, and I'm sure a lot of other fellows involved into real estate marketing...

I'm donating $100, and also putting up a blog page for Charles Richey Fundraise where anyone can donate as much as they can.

Best of luck to Charles and we pray for his quick recovery.

Charles is one of those people that goes out of his way to help anyone that asks for it. There are a number of people who he has helped over the years, not to mention the animal rescue work he does. I hope that everyone can find it in their hearts to step up and help Charles in his time of need.

Late night update (12:15AM, Tuesday morning in Arizona):

Max just posted a blog post with donation information via PayPal.

The Charles Richey Fundraiser is under way!

He is also working on a small image that anyone can add to their sidebar in their Web sites in order to help the cause. It will link to the blog post that max just posted (http://www.ibsteam.net/blog/blogging...chey-fundraise) so anyone who sees it can easily find Charles' page.

I am totally shocked by reading and hearing of Charles' plight. Ken Smith was nice enough to send me an e-mail which I read this morning and bounced over to this thread.

I have made my donation to assist Charles and Jacqui during this period of distress.

As Ken stated, Charles is one person that truly goes out of his way to help many people and will always befriend someone. Charles contributes his time and efforts to many people and organizations. He is truly one of the nicest people someone could get to know. I sincerely hope that those that know Charles will give him prays, hope, and support during this period in his life and wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

He did mention to me about a week ago in an e-mail that he had a head cold which was clouding his mind. Never in the wildest dreams could one imagine he would be in the current state.

Good start - we got a handful of donations yesterday in the evening and this morning. Hope we'll be able to get the ball rolling now.
