The only way I know of that you can do that would be to do something like this:

This isn't My Gmap, it's a complete custom map. You can change the markers by uploading new ones of whatever you want. The problem is they aren't as easy to build...The benefits are that they are comletely customzable. you can open the balloons on mouseover if you want and change the markers. I'd be happy to send you the code. I gave up where these are because of my tech skills.

The custom map seems like more work then it might be worth. There are benefits, but I just don't think that I have the time to really learn how to fully use it. For now I will just play with "my map" and get the content put together, maybe later I will switch to the custom version.

That's why I started fooling with 'my maps'. The custom maps do offer more functionality, but, at a price of my time. You can mouseover to open ballons and, well, basically anything you want...It's just not necessary since my maps works so well...

It is hard to beat the my maps system. Doing it yourself is rewarding if you have time but finding the time for everything is a problem.
