I've had two contacts in the past 4 months from people who found my blog. One asked for market conditions in his town and the other complaigning about the recent tax assessment taking place in his town. So, im guess there are more locals visiting that aren't commenting yet. Not sure what to do differently that will generate more of a response/interaction with them.

The one thing im considering doing is writing a few articles that do link to other realtor blogs but only on articles that give good buying and/or selling tips that my local visitors may be able to benefit from. I could possibly get some links back but more importantly get the benefit of their advice (and probably better written articles) for my visitors

Lack of local comments is one reason why agents start blogging to the wrong audience. They want gratification via comments, so they write for other bloggers. You have to do that to get links, but you need to strike a balance if you want business.

If I were a realtor I would seek for forums and groups with real people where they discuss lifestyles, traveling to your area, things to do and their move to your area. I've seen a few of those in Myrtle Beach and found some here in Phoenix. I think, by joining those groups and just being social and helping out people (since you're the expert on your local area) will get you the gratification... also you will establish a status of pretty cool and helpful local citizen and later on if you add a link in your signature to your site - that will make a good funnel to your site. Also, forums like that give you the best ideas on what kind of content you need for your site and in what level of detail. These kind of forums are not as crazy as realtors forums with 20-30 pages of comments in 3 days, so they would be very easy to keep track of and participate in. Just be yourself and be helpful - don't advertise your business - people who got helped will be curious to check out your site themselves from your sig. It always happens in realtors forums - isn't it?
