Default Should I do an Open house where its never been done before?

In Cyprus no one has ever done an open house before and I want to do one. The problem is bringing a new idea into a market takes a lot of work and that dosen't guarantee success. I figure I can promote it like crazy and if nothing else I may get new customers. What do you all think?

There is never a guarantee for success. Nothing ventured nothing gained. This might be the opportunity of a lifetime. Most of the time we spin out wheels doing the same marketing as a thousand other agents. I wish I could come up with something that was completely different around here. Good luck.

Be sure to have owner lock up any valuables ie, guns, jewelry, artwork, medicine important papers, etc. Be careful about letting people wander around the house and check all the window and door locks when you leave.

Cleo, I think is a great idea especialy since nobody is doing them! I haven't done many open houses in the past but is something to do in my future plans. Since the market slow down a lot of agent in this area started doing them and many are getting some leads, according to them.

Thanks for the responses. I still have not done one yet, this area is a tourist area and most of the buyers are from England so I was thinking to wait till the tourist season is back. What are some of the methods for advertising an "Open House".
