Could have been, I can't find it here anymore, I don't know? I just found out I lost a buyer from London, decided he could save money by buying a property from the listing company rather then through me @ 2%. I guess I need to sharpen my sales skills! The other firm is going to charge him 3% on his side the seller 3% and convinced him they could get him the best deal because they know what the seller needs. Next! I now have the whole day cleared so ~ back to business!

At the Pubcon this year Michael Gray was pretty much on every panel and the first thing he was looking is links. He would make smart-alek comments like - "do you like to leave a lot of comments on blogs to get links?" One guy asked to review his site and his questions was - why his site wasn't ranking high even though he had (I want to say) over a thousand of links in Google. Matt Cutts chimed in and said - "to make it quick, only 3 links, out of all of that that you have, counts". I wanted to be "funny" and yelled, - "what was that tool again?". He said - "this is internal Google tool".
Every one knows that Google's algo is quite complicated. Don't you think google's engineers can't implement quite complicated filters as well? It's not in Google's interest to punish and remove regular business sites from their index - they only hunt down real bad ones. Otherwise - they let them chase their own tails with links etc and handle devaluations automatically. Yahoo on the other hand is not smart enough, so when they remove or penalize sites manually - they don't bother checking and releasing them anymore since the volume of manual adjustments is probably too huge and it's impossible to monitor everything manually, when in Google it's just a part of the algo.

Don I think the first thing you need to consider is who is hosting your websites. go with a search engine friendly CMS (content management system) like Wordpress and you will most likely see things improve. The AA URL structure is hurting you as Google always has issues with it. Point2 really isn't all that much better.

Thanks for the help ~ I'll reread it all every month.
Just the past month my pr went up 1, my Google has inched up a little, and my back-links have improved. Yahoo is back up to the best it has ever been, MSN fluctuates but is back to a top 5 in most search terms. After all the upward movement the site is not producing. I actually had more inquiries and leads when it couldn't be found on Google and I had that huge very busy and colorful front-page. Thanks to everyone who has helped and Bob's last suggestions seems to have helped for city real estate ~ who would have thought. ![]() |
