It's ALL About the RUG!
Some Interior Designs or Home Stagers will literally start a design plan "from the rug up". An area rug anchors a room, defines living spaces and how they are used as well as sets the mood or feeling of the lifestyle to be enjoyed in the space. This is a great example of how a RUG can completely change the entire feeling of a room.
In this picture; the rug is warm and traditional. Earth tones of gold and rust in a familiar pattern with a simple boarder lends itself to the feeling of "familiarity" to an open living space. You can just imagine sitting by the fireplace and reading a good book.
Yet for this particular neighborhood, we wanted to change it up a bit and market this home towards a younger generation of Home Buyers. The young family who is buying their first home; fun, up-beat, non-traditional. So by simply changing out the area rug to a tonal safari pattern the entire feeling of the room and home has changed. Subtle colors of browns, golds and beige still depict the great pattern without overbearing the entire space. The vibe is now young and hip.
NOTHING else has changed in this room - only the RUG. But by simply playing with styles and colors, the entire feeling can change with a simple change of the RUG. Both rugs were generously provided by our friends at NW Rugs. (28610 Canwood Street, Agoura Hills, CA 91301)
