Fixed Mortgage Rates Hit Record Lows…Again

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage at 3.79 percent continues to remain well below 4 percent and 15-year fixed-rate mortgages are also slightly down at 3.04 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage has averaged below 4 percent all but one week since December 8, 2011, helping to keep homebuyer affordability high.

Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac to Adopt New Rules Regarding Raleigh Short Sales
Posted May 7th, 2012 by rmcnabbFannie Mae and Freddie Mac are adopting new guidelines for processing short sales, which most Raleigh Realtors expect will outpace foreclosures in the coming year.
The guidelines, required by the Federal Housing Finance Agency and effective June 15, would require servicers of mortgages backed by Freddie and Fannie to review and respond to requests for short sales within 30 calendar days of receipt of a buyer’s offer.
