Throwback Thursday--For the love of ....Dad

I remember all the way back to 3 years old. Yes, my mind is still sharp. Well, maybe not ….but I do remember a few things….

Sally and the Fam Funny, I remember loving the dresses my mom sewed for me. Yes, handmade and a frilly skirt underneath.  Mom did dress me up like a little doll, with bonnet, the frilly underpants, socks and shiny black patent leather shoes. I was ALWAYS dressed up.

I remember going to church with the whole family.  I remember this particular instance because I had fallen asleep during the service.  I was awakened by my dad when it was time to leave and I remember sleepily walking outside on a sunny day.  I abruptly was awakened (that part I don’t remember) only to find myself holding some strange man’s hand!

I was traumatized!!!

I sought out my dad…only a few steps away.  He had a smirk on his face. It was that look like ‘see, you should watch where you’re going’. He made sure to teach me some of those lessons.

Here’s my picture to go with my Throwback Thursday post.
