About Greater Athens Properties

Leah Leggett is a REALTOR® with a love for the real estate industry. She has been a licensed REALTOR® in the Greater Athens area for over 12 years and has helped hundreds of families by and sell real estate. Before getting into the real estate business in 2004, Leah attended the University of Georgia where she studied Film and Theatre Studies. She is currently an Associate Broker with Greater Athens Properties representing buyers and sellers on a day to day basis and considers education an important part of her role as a REALTOR®. Educating first time homebuyers is one of her passions within the field. As a listing agent and a buyer’s agent she is delighted to help her clients get their homes sold, whether she is representing luxury homes, regular homes, or short sale sellers who need to know how to avoid foreclosure. Leah’s local market knowledge is a valuable tool to both Buyers and Sellers to guide in pricing, offers, negotiating, and market trending. She has innovative marketing strategies, the ability to target home searches, strong negotiation skills, and offers support through the closing. What she loves most about what she does is the opportunity to meet new people from all walks of life. New couples starting out on their own, families growing, couples downsizing, singles nesting, people relocating into town or out of town.

In 2012, Leah was awarded the REALTOR® of the Year Award by the Athens Area Association of REALTORS®.  She was chosen out of almost 700 REALTORS® for the Board’s highest honor based on REALTOR® spirit, civic activity and involvement, and business accomplishments.  In 2015, Leah was awarded both the State and the Local Entrepreneur of the Year Awards by the Georgia Women’s Council of REALTORS®.  Other awards Leah has received have been the Good Neighbor Award (2009), the Rising Star Award (2010), the YPN Young Achievers Award (2011), and the Circle of Achievement Award (2013-2015).

Leah is a member of the Athens Area Association of
REALTOR®, the National Association of REALTOR®, the Georgia Association of REALTOR® and the Women’s Council of REALTOR®.  She is very involved with the Georgia Women’s Council of REALTOR® and has served as the 2014 State President and the 2015 State Governor.  She is also very involved with the Athens Area Association of REALTOR® and is currently serving as the 2016 President of the Association.  In 2013 she served as the President of the Classic MLS of the Association.  In 2011 she helped charter the local FUEL Young Professionals Network and is still actively involved.  Leah is also a 2015 graduate of the Georgia Association of REALTOR® Leadership Academy and continues advancing her knowledge of the real estate profession by attending various conferences, classes and earning real estate designations including the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI), Short Sales and Foreclosure Specialist (SFR), and e-PRO.

In addition to Leah’s substantial contributions to professional organizations, she also lends her time and talents to her community.
She has served on the Board of Directors for Keep Athens Clarke County Beautiful as the Ex-Officio for the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce.  She has served on the Board of Directors for Athens Canine Rescue as the Foster Coordinator.  While serving on the ACR board she personally rescued 13 dogs from local animal shelters and found them forever homes.  She decided to adopt #13, which is a Rottie mix named Murray.  Leah also sponsors and supports several non-profit organizations in her community including Athens Canine Rescue, Pride Athens, and the Upper Oconee Watershed Network.  Leah’s biggest accomplishment is her commitment to giving back to the communities in which she works by giving a portion of every closing commission back to local charities on behalf of her clients.

Real estate is a personal service business.
Relationships are the backbone of Leah’s business and her clients are her primary concern in every transaction.  She makes it her mission every day to provide exemplary customer service.  As a result, 95% of her annual business is repeat clients and referrals, proving that her passion for service pays off for both their clients and their business.  She strives to provide the highest level of client service to all clients and to consistently exceed customer expectations by never losing sight that it is honesty, loyalty, integrity, understanding, accountability, and creativity which set her apart in this industry.
