Learn More About Corinne & Why She Sells Real Estate

Corinne Guest believes that successful real estate transactions come about as a result of clear & open communications, particularly on the needs and expectations of her client(s) and the market conditions.

Corinne understands that every client has unique requirements and circumstances and that while the real estate process is a well trodden path, the journey to achieving a successful transaction will be different each time. Flexibility in being able to adjust schedules, combined with a high level of responsiveness to changing needs, are essential elements that enable Corinne to provide her clients with the very best level of service and support.

No One Likes Surprises

So what does Corinne do to avoid these or to minimize them if they occur?  Simply put, it’s her methodical and metticulous attention to the real estate process, the client’s needs, and to those details that could easily delay or cause the transaction to fail.  “You cannot be passive in this process, you need to be proactive, anticipate obstacles and have strategies ready to support the client as changes occur”.

Patience not Pressure

While others might push a client to quickly make a choice, so they can move on to the next client, Corinne urges her clients to think it through carefully before making a decision. She’s also willing to discourage a choice if she sees trouble ahead such as issues that could affect her clients’ welfare in the future - and she gladly points these out along with the other reasons why a home would or would not work to fulfill their dreams, or where home “improvements” may not increase salability.

Corinne sees this cautionary care and lack of pressure as the right way to treat clients. Her clients see it as extraordinary.

Buyers John & Holly Polacek said it best in this quote:

“Not only were you always available and patient, but alone among the  agents we worked with, you actually listened to and acted upon what we wanted. Never did we feel any push to action nor did you ever seek to push your own sensibilities regarding any prospect. Yet, when we did seek your opinion, you always provided reasoned and incisive advice.”

Broad Real Estate Experience

Before becoming a full-time mom and moving to the U.S., Corinne worked in banking in the U.K.– processing and underwriting mortgage loans. There she gained a full understanding of the mortgage process. So when the kids were grown and she decided to re-enter the workplace, the mortgage business would have been a natural choice. Instead, she chose real estate sales because she wanted to work with individuals and families – not just their paperwork.

Real estate sales was the right choice. From licensing in 2005 to becoming a broker in 2007, and owning her own brokerage by 2008, the journey has been swift and successful.

Corinne thinks this is due in part to her dedication to her clients, and in part to her thirst for knowledge. She constantly updates her real estate skills with courses and has earned several designations along the way. She also studies and implements the latest technologies to effectively connect and communicate with buyers, and to provide the information they seek. Corinne Has Inside Experience at Relocation - Why Choose Anyone Else?

Corinne is also a valuable source of advice for buyers who are relocating – nationally or internationally – because she can advise them from real life experience. Because her Dad was an officer in the Royal Air Force, Corinne and her brothers began traveling the world with their parents when she was but 4 years old.

Then she married and moved to the U.S. – twice – with both children and pets in tow.

Corinne and her family have lived in Barrington, Illinois since 1996 – with the exception of a 9 month relocation to Florida. That change was expected to be permanent, but they soon realized that life in Florida was not for them and headed back to Illinois. As Corinne puts it: “What was I thinking? I love snow and I love the open spaces, the trees, and the lifestyle right here in Barrington. This is where we belong.”

Life At Home

When not busy with real estate, Corinne loves to curl up with a good book and a cup of English tea – often with one of 4 resident cats on her lap. An avid snow skier until back surgery (Good Shepherd Hospital, LakeBarrington) took her off the slopes, she’s now looking forward to purchasing a snow mobile so she can continue to fly through the snow. She also looks forward to building a cabin on a property the family has in Colorado– so she and the family can get in a little extra “snow time.”
