What is included when I buy a house?

What is included when I buy a house? findwell agent, Lauren GeRoy, answers in this installment of Ask an Agent.

Q: What is included when I buy a house?

When you make an offer on a property your agent will help you determine which appliances are, in fact, included in the property. Typically the stove, range, microwave, garbage disposal, and dishwasher would be included in the home. Often times, the seller may want to keep the washer/dryer possibly the refrigerator so sometimes those aren’t included. Anything that’s attached to the property like blinds, curtains, light fixtures are all included in the sale as well, unless the seller wants to keep something and specifies that upfront.

Q: Is furniture included in the sale?

Furniture is typically not included in a real estate purchase though every once in a while you can negotiate something in if the seller is willing to part with it. Sometimes it needs to be done outside of the purchase contract however, so that it doesn’t add value to the property and create issues on an appraisal.
